Dr. Paul Dick

Dr. Paul Dick is a highly respected veterinary pharmaceutical executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical, veterinary, and animal health industries, specializing in regulatory strategy, product development, and commercialization of therapeutic innovations. He currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board at CanaQuest Medical Corp, guiding the company’s scientific and regulatory strategy.
Dr. Dick is the Founder and Managing Director of Paul Dick & Associates Ltd., a leading consultancy specializing in regulatory affairs, business development, and project management across animal and human health sectors. His consultancy has helped steer numerous biotech and pharmaceutical ventures through complex development pipelines and regulatory landscapes.
Dr. Dick spent over two decades at Elanco Animal Health (a division of Eli Lilly), where he held progressively senior roles, including Manager of R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Control, and Corporate Affairs. As Chief Operating Officer of Naturagen, an Elanco-affiliated global team, he led the strategic acquisition, formulation, and global commercialization of natural health products for livestock.
He has worked closely with Health Canada’s Veterinary Drugs Directorate (VDD) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), playing a pivotal role in shaping regulatory frameworks for animal health products. Notably, he contributed to the creation of the Low-Risk Veterinary Health Products Interim Notification Program, streamlining access to safe, natural alternatives for animal care. From 1999 to 2002, Dr. Dick served on Health Canada’s Animal Antimicrobial Resistance Advisory Committee, contributing to national policy on antimicrobial stewardship.
An industry thought leader, Dr. Dick has held board positions with several key organizations, including the Canadian Animal Health Institute and as President of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA). He has also contributed as a peer reviewer for NSERC strategic grants, supporting research excellence in Canadian science and innovation.
Dr. Dick holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a Master of Science (MSc) in immunology and infectious diseases. His multifaceted background, spanning industry, policy, and innovation, makes him a critical advisor to CanaQuest’s mission of advancing next-generation neurological therapeutics.
